Bunny Slippers are hard!

My next project was supposed to be the Fluffy Bunny Slippers from Stitch'n Bitch The Happy Hooker, but they are giving me some trouble. I knew this would probably be the case after much reading on several different forums. I don't have pictures yet, but the upper sole is way bigger than the bottom sole. Unless I'm misunderstanding how this is supposed to work, I definitely cannot see how these two pieces will fit together.

I needed a break from those slippers (maybe a permanent one), so I started on the Seija Set for a friend at work. I'm doing it in Caron Simply Soft in Dark Country Blue, Light Country Blue and New White. It's coming together nicely so far, though all the joins are a pain in the butt. I'm trying to weave in the ends as I go.

For your viewing pleasure...

the One Skein Scarf from Stitch'n Bitch The Happy Hooker. My lovely sister-in-law bought me this absolutely gorgeous yarn a few years ago for Christmas. I had just learned to crochet then, but moved on to other things for awhile. This yarn has sat waiting for some needle-lovin' for a long time. It's a blend of hand dyed Merino and Corriedale wools by non-profit organization Manos del Uruguay. I decided to lengthen the scarf a bit from the original pattern. Any runway models out there need a scarf?

Let me introduce my model, Snickers

Snickers is wearing the Seija hat from Stitch'n Bitch The Happy Hooker. I used some old garage sale yarn in this, thus explaining the circa 1975 color theme. I added a little crochet pansy to the top to cover the hole left by my unexperienced hands.

Don't laugh...

at my purple bag. This is my first complete crochet project, and it's a little rough. I used some purple/black/white variegated yarn I found at the dollar store (what better to practice with, right?). The pattern is from www.lionbrand.com. Yes, it's ugly. Yes, the handle is uneven. Yes, I am very proud of it.

Yay!

I just started crocheting, and I needed a place to keep track of and share my little projects. So, blogging I am. I will share my scrapbooking stuff too (when I actually do it), and anything else I manage to "craft." Occasionally, I will subject you to pictures of my cats as well.
